Weekend Warrior Recovery Flush


After one too many happy hours and the coveted Sunday morning brunch buffet, I think we’ve all plopped down in bed on Sunday night, rubbed our over-stuffed bellies, and thought “I’ve made a terrible mistake.” Or two. Possibly three if there was pizza involved.

The thing is, you didn’t make a mistake! Over-indulging is something we’ve all done and shouldn’t be viewed as a character flaw. You’re not greedy, you just like pizza.

Through practice, you’ll learn moderation and how to listen to your body’s “full” signals.

It’s all a learning experience!

There are steps you can take to help your body recover and reset after the dust settles. I wanted to share with you my cleanse recipe for detoxing after a long weekend. This cleanse can be used during the week to stay balanced as well.

My go-to for a quick cleanse is Apple Cider Vinegar.

I love Apple Cider Vinegar in all its bitter, wondrous glory Apple Cider Vinegar is made by fermenting apple juice. It contains a variety of vitamins such as pectin, vitamin C, and folic acid.

 

Apple Cider Vinegar has many benefits including but not limited to:

Regulating Blood Sugar

Aiding in Weight Loss

Aiding in Digestion

Reducing Cholesterol

Flushing out Toxins

Strengthening the Immune System

Fighting Sinus Infections

 

Helping to Accelerate Muscle Recovery

I personally had a horrible sinus infection earlier this year. I despise going to the doctor and had read that antibiotics essentially are ineffective in treating sinus infections. After doing additional research, I learned that apple cider vinegar could be used to kill the infection. After one week of using the apple cider vinegar, I could already breathe more freely and feel the mucus thinning. (Gross, but true)

I like to make this drink on a Saturday. While I’m meal prepping for the week, I’ll make a pitcher of water, apple cider vinegar, and a splash of lemon juice for taste.

I’ll stick it in the fridge overnight and by the morning, I’ll have a cold glass to start my Sunday. If I have to dash out for brunch or errands, I’ll come back and be sure to finish the pitcher before I go to sleep that Sunday night.

 Here’s the recipe! You can make a big pitcher like me or you can make it one cup at a time.

Weekend Warrior Recovery Flush

1 tsp of Apple Cider Vinegar

1 cup of water

 

Recipe for Pitcher

8 tsps of Apple Cider Vinegar

1 tsp of Lemon Juice (not required, personal preference)

8 cups of water

 

I also like to make a pitcher to have for the week. Generally, I’ll drink one cup in the morning and one cup in the afternoon, after my workout.

So go ahead! Enjoy that stack of french toast. MmmmM. Just be sure to practice moderation and know your limits. And drink your dang ACV. Your future self will thank you for it. .
